University of Connecticut, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Office records, 1875-1986

The records of this office pertain to the administrative operation involved in the everyday activities of the University--budget, finance, payroll, human resources, facilities, etc. The collection contains correspondence, reports, studies, minutes, financial and legal records, publications, photographs and maps. Of special interest are the legal records in Series IV, which provide insight into the physical growth and expansion of the University in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. A small glimpse into the lives of Depression-era students, while attending and afterwards, can be extrapolated from the correspondence with the Student Loan Committee in Series V.
